What Feng Shui Is

 "The term Feng Shui is shorthand for The energy dissipated by the wind stops at the boundary of water."

Feng Shui is the study of the environment, places, people, time, and how the energies (chi or qi) of each interact. It is a practice of understanding and harnessing these forces of energy to benefit your well-being. Just as acupuncture works on the flow of chi, or energy, in your body, FENG SHUI balances the flow of energy in your home, office, classroom and the land.

Through the proper placement of entrances, rooms, pathways and furniture, and through décor that agrees with the prevailing energy type, Feng Shui design produces the best possible effects of a building on its occupants. Each particular activity and person is supported. Life becomes easier with such support and people tend to be happier and more effective in life.
 

What Feng Shui is Not

 It is not magic, nor is it a New Age discovery.

It is not a religion  A religion is when you pray to something, but in Feng Shui, you're not praying to anything. You're getting into balance and alignment in your environment. It also does not provide elixirs or cure-alls for your problems. 

Clearing Clutter Clutter Clearing is based on organizing your house, making it pleasing to the eye, cleaning your house and getting rid of things you don't use or love. Cleanliness is important and people generally feel better with a less cluttered home, but Feng Shui is so much deeper. If you like Clutter Clearing, read books by Denise Linn or Karen Kingston and if you think that can work wonders, then you will love Traditional Feng Shui even more.

Interior Design - Feng Shui is not about just making a house look nice. A house could be beautifully decorated inside and out and still have features in it that can cause problems for the occupants. The consultation book I provide is a great starting point for you to share with your interior decorator or for you to use yourself as roadmap of colors, shape, pattern, elements and art.  I recommend hiring a Feng Shui consultant that does not wear more than one hat. The Feng Shui consultant hat. I don't sell anything and my only objective is to focus on the Feng Shui and not to sell homes, furnishings or artwork.  Yes I do make recommendations but it is up to you whether you buy them at the home improvement store or a high end decor shop. My credibility is of the utmost importance.

Intuition Based Feng Shui -  Traditional Feng Shui is not about being a psychic in your house. That is why when classical Feng Shui professionals do it, they do it using FORMULAS and CALCULATIONS instead of just how they FEEL about a place.  Strong intuition comes in very handy in life but that is not what classical Feng Shui consultants use to help you solve your problems.  If your car is having engine trouble, would you go to an intuitive mechanic?
